Events in 2018
The passing year has been a great year also because there were some great adventurous events. If you search for events on the standard search page - www.geocaching.com/play/search/ - it will look something like this:
You get a handful of events but it cuts out after roughly 50km. Basically you're missing out on all the fun stuff which is further afield. First of all you can use this link to view all events in Victoria. On top of that there are some events pre-planned and not published yet. If you're a bit adventurous, like going out into nature and hit the trail here are three events you don't want to miss this year:
- The Buller Getaway 2018 - 3rd & 4th March 2018For the fourth year in a row Geoff is opening the doors of the Apira Ski Lodge for luxurious weekend on the mountain. Mt Buller has plenty to offer from little walks, offroading over to epic MTB track all the way to ridiculous off-track hikes.
- WinterCamp 2018 - 11th & 12th August 2018We are now going into the sixth year of this fine tradition of holding a WinterCamp event. If you feel like a nice weekend away from everything, join us in the High Country and share some of your geocaching stories. This is event is a T5 and will be published at the end of February
- The Tali Karng Event 2018 - 3rd & 4th November 2018 (Cup-Weekend)
Although we're still figuring out the details, the date and place has been set: The area around Lake Tali Karng on Cup Weekend. In the last few years this weekend also coincided with GIFF which means we'll grab a projector and screen as well. Publish date it early May.
Of course there are plenty of other events coming up so get out there and be social!
Cheers 😉

Oh my god! This is fantastic! I just love attending such camps and adventurous events. Thanks for sharing it here, can anybody attend this thing? As in age group! There also a skiing event in one of the venues in San Francisco where even kids are allowed. So, I just wanted to confirm.
ReplyDeleteI take my little one to the events > he was born in November. Hope that answers your question 😎
